Signs of pain/tension in horses?
- Asymmetry, such as stiffness on one rein, or a disunited canter
- Uneven muscle development or muscle wastage
- Sore/cold backs
- Resistance and evasions such as napping/bucking/rearing/bolting
- Increased spookiness
- Uncomfortable/hollowing through transitions
- Moving off when mounted/difficulty maintaining halt
- Unexplained lameness/changes in movement
- Signs of pain/discomfort when being tacked up/groomed
